Choosing Compassion: Our Day with the Beagle Rescue Network

As part of our commitment to social responsibility, Hanjin—the parent company of Slow Recipe—recently visited the Beagle Rescue Network’s Nonsan Center in Chungcheongnam-do. This visit was more than just a corporate outing; it was the latest chapter in our ‘Love Connect’ campaign.

On December 12th, our team stepped away from their desks to support the emotional well-being and adoption readiness of rescued dogs. As the name ‘Love Connect’ suggests, this initiative is about building meaningful bridges: between people and animals, and between corporations and the communities they serve. From the moment we arrived, seeing the hopeful eyes of the rescues and the tireless dedication of the shelter staff, it was clear just how much every bit of support truly matters.

Our primary focus was on the emotional health of the dogs. Many rescues carry the weight of their past, making socialization a vital step toward finding their "forever homes." The team spent the day walking the dogs, helping them lower their guard and learn to trust humans again.

Beyond just exercise, we engaged in specialized socialization training designed to reduce anxiety. It was incredibly moving to watch: dogs that started the morning shy and trembling began to wag their tails and open up through consistent, gentle interaction. These moments of connection aren't just "feel-good" activities—they are essential preparation for a successful adoption.

A healthy mind requires a healthy environment. To support the shelter’s physical needs, our team assisted with sanitization, kennel maintenance, and general hygiene management to ensure a clean, safe space for every resident.

However, our support didn't stop at physical labor. We are proud to practice a "virtuous cycle" of ESG management and donated a portion of our revenue from EV charging and solar power initiatives to the Beagle Rescue Network. By funneling the proceeds of our eco-friendly business into animal welfare, we are ensuring that our environmental progress directly supports the protection of life.

Since 2021, the Love Connect Campaign has been a vehicle for change, spanning animal protection, environmental cleanup, and support for children in need. Working alongside partners like Ita Seoul, ChildFund Korea, and World Vision, we strive to create a ripple effect of positive impact every year.

Our day in Nonsan was a powerful reminder that small, collective actions lead to massive shifts. At Slow Recipe, we share these core values. We will continue to champion sustainability and responsible choices, ensuring that respect for life remains a central part of our daily journey.
