The fashion industry was grappling with a growing problem: piles of unsold clothing and unused materials like thread. As trends changed rapidly, the environmental impact became increasingly concerning.

Our CEO, Wang Jong-mi, was deeply troubled by this issue. Inspired by this concern, "PLEATSMAMA" was born.

However, creating products from discarded materials wasn't as easy as it seemed. In the midst of this, we discovered Hyosung TNC, a company that produces eco-friendly yarns made from recycled PET bottles.
A shared sense of responsibility towards the environment became the common ground between our two companies, leading to a meaningful alliance. Finally, in February 2018, we proudly introduced the nation's first knit pleated bag made from eco-friendly yarn.
This marked the beginning of PLEATSMAMA.

PLEATSMAMA was born from a realization of the fashion industry's problem: the mountains of unsold clothes and unused yarns. Driven by a desire to address this issue, we set out on a mission. We sought eco-friendly recycled yarns to transform discarded waste into stylish bags and developed our brand's signature designs.

In 2018, we proudly launched the first domestically-made knit pleats bag made from eco-friendly materials.
